How good is OU 31 steel

Does anybody use and test ou31 steel?
How good is it as compared to O1 , 52100 and other high carbon steels in terms of edge retention and toughness.

I've never used it, but it's supposed to be 3 times tougher than D2, with 10 times the edge holding of ATS 34.
I think there are some Japanese makers that like it.

it is a pm steel, 0.9% c, 8.25% cr, 2% mo, 3% v, and 3% co

honestly, it should behave similarly to 3v, (at least from the %'s that are there) but there are still some differences
i would like to get some

I agree it does look very similar to 3V but with better hot hardness (more Mo and the Co addition). It is likely to form a similar amount of vanadium carbide, probably a little bit more of it. So it will be a little bit less tough because of the Co and a little higher V. And reach higher hardness.

I never heard of that steel before. Like many things on this site, out of my price range. But I learned something today! Gonna take tomorrow off, brain hurts...
