I don't know anything about the quality of Bear knives, but it seems kind of iffy at that price. Also, I know next to nothing about damascus steel, so I'm wondering; Does Bear do damascus steel well or not? Do their bowies have good fit and finish. I hate it when a guard or something comes loose on a knife.

Seems like a good deal, but I want to check with you guys lest I buy something I'll regret.

If I'm understanding their catalog, Admiral's cheapest 12" damascus goes for $53. You add on the price of the price of stag slabs and the guard and the grinding and heat treating, there is no way to sell a quality item at that price.

It does look good though.:)
