I was looking at a kershaw needs work folder and was wondering how good a knife it is. Found one at wally world for a decent price and was considering it.
I love the blade shape and it was pretty sharp from the package. The handle is not really as comfortable as some others that I own. The clip is set for a higher carry than some like (pretty tight but easy to fix) but I use it at work and so I dont care if it is obviously clipped in my pocket. The lock bar is thin but seems to "set" fairly well so no problems there. I do like the flipper as opposed to the A.O. but its not as fast or as smooth as my OD1. For the $, I would say give it a try (of course I have a whole drawer full of cheaper production models that hve said that aboutand carry rarely because I stumbled on something "better").YMMV
It is a great slicer for cardboard and rope but the tip is a bit fragile. It comes razor sharp and the steel is very easy to sharpen and maintain because of the blade shape. I would spend a little extra and get the g-10 version. It contains assisted opening and has a flipper for deployment. Pick it up you will not be disappointed.
i like mine.........the blade shape makes it a excellent slicer. extremely fast opener. i took it apart to see how it works it seems good quality. parts are readily available .the pesky t-6 screws are a bit hard "not to strip."
