How Grippy is a Canvas Laminate Handle ?

So tell me something.
I am looking at getting my first canvas laminate handled knife (can you believe I don't have one yet . . . I'm so lame).
Will someone who owns a Rat 1 and a knife with canvas laminate (preferably this Case Slimline Trapper) compare the grippyness / texture for me.

The Rat is kind of slick feeling but not bad in use.
I would hope the canvas is better grip wise but I have no idea

Same as micarta ? If so , varies a lot depending on the finish but can feel smooth yet still be grippy when wet .
