Maybe a weird question, but I am tried of tearing up so many pockets of my jeans because of G10 scales that are rough. In pictures, it looks like the 940-2 scales are somewhat smooth. Can anyone comment on this?

Very smooth. I would call it more of a satin polish. It won't tear up your pocket in the least.

I second dwdickey. I have the 940-1501. G10 scales with 20cv blade. It's like BM sanded the scales down and negated any abrasiveness G10 has. Honestly, if it wasn't for the handle design of the 940 I wouldn't like it. But it works well with this knife in my opinion. Certainly will not tear any pockets.

The shape and contouring of the handle give it plenty of traction. I'm glad it's not a pocket eater, I'm really tired of replacing pants! :D

The 940-2 G-10 scales are fairly smooth while giving some texture for a good hold. They'll definitely not tear up any pants.

I also dislike coarse G-10 because they can be rough on hands and pants. I end up using sand paper to smooth them a little.

Yup! My 940-1501 handles have not torn up any pockets at all.
Great knife!

Pics.....cause why the heck not??? And maybe the texture can be seen.
