the front side looks easy, but what happens when you take off the back side? How hard is it to change out the scales on the 940? what happens when you pull the pivot pin out to take off the back side?will the blade come out? Thanks would someone mind giving me step by step instructions. Thanks again.

Actually, it would need to pay attention to few key points. You need to remove entire pivot, so it means disassemble all the handles, capsuled liner, Washer and pivot.

When you disassemble, you will void the warrantee. I'm sure BKC will help you re-assemble when you do but it depends on how much damage that causes. (i.e. strip screw, etc.)

If you feel confident mechanically, then go ahead with the process.

* Make sure to have high quality torx screw drivers that matches your knife.
* Do in a place that you can be sure to not to lose parts, and remember which screw it comes off of.
* Be patient. AXIS pivot and screw area is build with tight tolerances. The fitting of pivot goes through Handle, Liner, washer, blade, washer, liner, then handle.
The liner has keyed hole and pivot female bold has key notched.

You should be able to find in youtube.

Try searching Youtube and Google. Plenty of info and easy to find.
All Axis locks are basically the same so you don't need a video/instruction for your specific knife.

steps to re-assemble knife

1. Put the stop pin in between the two liners
2. Put axis lock in (this will hold the liners together)
3. Attach the handle scales
4. Put the back spacer in
4. Slide the pivot slightly in until you can set the first washer on top of it
5. Slide blade in while pulling axis lock back push pivot up to hold blade in place
6. Slide second washer in and push pivot in the rest of the way
7. Put pivot screw in

The first time I did mine it took me a while to get the blade back in but it is much easier now that I done it a few times. Good luck let me know if you have any more questions.

I just put new custom carbon fiber scales on my 940 about 2 weeks ago, it's pretty easy and self explanatory once you see how they come apart.
