How harmful is TufGlide/Cloth if ingested?

My situation is this: I treated every surface of my Leatherman Juice xe6 with TufGlide, including the can opener. The label on the bottle warns against ingestion. What I'm wondering is if it is safe to use this can opener on cans of food and drink?

You might try asking the company that makes the stuff. Here is their contact information :

I believe it's mostly mineral oil, so, not very harmful. Not washing your hands could be much worse.

It is not good to ingest but
the tiny amount on the can opener will not harm you and
since the Juice is highly stainless you could wipe down the can opener anyway.

I use food grade mineral oil on my knives
which is totally harmless except in quantity
when it may act as a laxative.
:)

i have the same question except about about militec-1. Back when i didn't know how to use it(drying it with a hair dryer) i put it all over my multitools. Would that present a problem?

Wipe them down with a clean cloth. Not a big deal -- it certainly won't hurt the metal, and too much wears off with use to hurt you. I don't like cutting food with a blade coated in something I'm not real familiar with, that's all.

Militec is my drink of choice.

Neither Militec or TufGlide will hurt you in the small quantities deposited on the blade. You would have to ingest much larger amounts.

The worst thing that would happen is diarrhea.

It is mineral spirits and not mineral oil in TufGlide. They are different compounds.

Take a look at some of the FDA's allowed levels of different contaminants for various foods .... a little TufGlide in your pork 'n beans will be the least of your worries! :)
