I was just wondering how everyones Bowies have held up if you use them? Does the bluing "scratch off" and how does the leather handle hold up and how about the tip? So far mine just looks pretty sit's next to his brother "Trident"!!:D

I haven't used mine in hard service yet and it rests patiently on the dining room table awaiting another steak or roast to battle with.

One of these days......

I must confess, mine too rests comfortably with brothers Recon, and Scuba...
I am soooo ashamed!!!:o  :D

I have held and fondeled mine so much that the blue on the guard and butt cap has worn off quite a bit!:D

Well, somehow time has flown and it is now July 1st. So I thought I'd go back about 100 days in The Forum and "resurrect" an interesting thread.

And this thread by SkagSig40 from the end of March is a good one to find out how much progress has been made in using and abusing our SOG knives.

For my part, I've not used 'em as much as I'd like, but the Tigershark has been proving itself as the one I really like to have as my camp and field-carry knife.

Cheers,

Carl

Still babing mine too! I have worn off even more blue fondeling it!:D One of these days I'll use it everyday!

Mine too, I confess...
I suspect my "user" knife will be my Tungsten DLC Field knife and the field Pup

I have my two Bowies hidden near the doors. One in the house; the other in the office. Both are sharp as can be. Both to be used
in case of intruders. I hope neither of them will be used. My wife knows where they are too. Thank God for SOG quality.

Looking forward when they will be in a nice display case.

Shalom, Yitzchak

WOW:eek: You take care over there! I heard Isreal now lets the public own firearms. Is this true? If so you should get yourself a nice shotgun or hand gun for home defence.:) Welcome to the forum!

Good morning and shalom,
Yes, it is true. the public can carry pistols with a permit. The pistol permit only allows you to carry, not to use. I have known of persons who have had their pistols confiscated by the police for firing a warning shot in a threating situation, just as waving a knife longer than 4 inches would be.
Persons who have served in the IDF are also allowed to carry their M16 or equilivant. And they can be conficated as well, especially if the person belong to a right wing political party.
My family is happy that I do not have a firearm. So far, SOG knives carry no bulletts:) Learning to defend with a knife is harder than with a gun but in my humble opinion there is no question.
