Well guys I hope you like my video on you tube. I wanted to show you guys how I sharpen my sebenza. It might work for you or may not. there is no wrong way or to sharpen if you use the basic principle of bringing 2 points together. to all the vets that have served and are serving our country, THANK YOU.
you can find the link to my video here:

Thanks. Great video. Stopping is the way to go to mantain that razor sharp edge. It really helped me by watching some one do it. Before I wasn't getting real sharp edges on a strop but the problem was i used too much pressure. It just takes a small amount of time, effort and money to maintain a great edge.

I am a newbe to knife shapening; so if my question sounds stupid - forgive me. I have just a few knives (Small 21 one of them). All of them are fairly new, and quite sharp right now. I have been reading a little about those who strop, and wanted to know the following: How long could you strop only (to keep a sharp edge, and never let the knife get dull) till you might need to reprofile the knife with a stone, and or a Sharpmaker for example. Could you only strop if you were diligent about maintaining a sharp edge?

Thanks for your help.
Good Video by the way.

If you use the knife minimal you can strop only, but it really depends on your uses. If you feel the strop is not getting the correct or same sharp edge it usually has it means you need to go to another medium such as the sharpmaker fine rods and then back to the strop.

I would categorize myself as a minimal user. Just normal stuff like opening packages, cutting small rope, etc.
