I had a couple of questions on how I efficiently square up blocks for cutting into scales. Now I know most people aren't squaring dozens to hundreds of blocks at a time, but I thought this video might still be beneficial to some. This is the most efficient and cost effective way I have found to quickly process rough blocks into perfectly squared pieces of material.
The biggest key is to have a disc grinder that has a table with both an X and Y axis. There are very few of these on the market, but it shouldn't be too difficult to fabricate or modify a table. I could recommend a few people who could likely do this. The other important part of the setup is to just modify the miter gauge so that the bar in front doesn't stick out nearly as much.
Anyways, here you go.
