How I tightened up my EDI Genesis

I have had this knife for years and it has sat due to blade play up and down and generally a miserable liner lock up. So was looking at the cheaper version here I believe where they used one liner. Fella said it had a bit of wobble due to the bushing not being machined properly. Well my original model uses the bushing around the pivot with bronze washers and the looseness thing got me to thinking.

Well put on two pair of glasses to use as magnification and looking I could see where the bushing was just a c-h off. So took a smooth mill bastard file and started filing away at the bushing. Do a bit and check the fit. When it looked like the bushing was just a tad more flush even a little under I fitted it together and checked the play. Well still a bit of up and down but it opened with more tension which is the first thing I was looking for.

So took a spoon and taped the end of the liner to the end of the spoon so it would hold good and not give. Bent the liner up a bit at a time and now have achieved very nice lock up with very good tension on the liner to adjust for wear and tear. In other words no horiz or vertical blade play and survives a spine whack pretty well. I mean it will release if I hit good more than a couple of times but 100% better than it was. Keepem sharp and it's like having a new knife cause this sat unused for years, or whatever year they first came out. keepem sharp
