How ironic. Cut myself with a Mora.

:grumpy:

I flip my folding knives open and closed all day.

I decide to give my hunting knife, a carbon Mora a quick wipe down with mineral oil and a t-shirt and YOWCH! Sliced my thumb pretty good. It's the worst knife wound I've given myself and it just seems funny that a fixed blade got me after all the opening and closing I do to so many different folding knives. Day in and day out.

It's that damn zero grind scandi! I've got a lot of respect for that knife.
After doing it's duty gutting a deer this year it still shaved hair. And cut the heck out of me :o

Amazing knife for the money! Don't ask for a picture of the wound though, I put the ole thumb right in a bandaid loaded down with neosporin, I don't want to see it.

I feel your pain. I just did this a couple days ago.

At least I know my sharpening skills have improved.

And on the tip of the finger, those sting! But at least it's a surgical incision, it should heal up quick!

I've lost count of how many times I've cut myself, you would think I have learned by now but when you play with sharp things its just something that happens.

On the plus side wounds from very sharp objects heal with very little scaring :)

If I used New Skin on that cut, my balls would retract into my abdomen from the pain.

It only burns for a little while. Let's you know your still alive.:D

Last two times I cut myself it's been with a fixed blade and one of them was doing the same thing slimshaneee was doing. Wiping down my knife with an old tee shirt and it cut right though the tee and into the side of my thumb.

I can totally see myself doing that, gotta be careful or find tougher tshirts haha

Fingertip cuts are the worst! All those nerve endings make them one of the worst places to cut yourself.

I was showing a friend how secure the knife was in it's kydex sheath. I didn't have the blade locked in the whole way. When I shook it with a powerfull downward motion the knife came out, bounced off a work bench and pierced my palm at the the medial nerve. It came real close to penetrating my hand. I do not have any health care so I used liquid bandaid's New Skin to seal it shut. It took awhile to heal.

Great post Slimshanee. I agree 100% that the Moras are great knives and even greater values. I've got a whole box full of 'em because I still can't decide which is my favorite.

I'm a knife nut, and handle them all the time, but the last three times I've cut my fingers haven't been with knives. Just yesterday I cut my thumb while mindlessly wiping my wife's fiskar scissors. Still not sure why I was even doing that! The two times before that were when I was trying to push apples through the apple slicer from the back side. Talk about embarrassing on multiple levels! :o

I cut myself good last night with a Kershaw Skyline and I had to get 5 stitches. That was the first serious cut I had from one of my knives. When they did the stitches they stuck a needle full of Novacane right in the cut, that hurt more then the cut.
