How is A-100 in daily or outdoor use?

I've been considering this one, probably full-size, but am curious how its V-grind/chisel edge is in everyday or outdoor use. The closest I have to it is a 2000 satin-coated CQC7A in plain edge. Which is a good user knife, but not the most comfortable in use for me, as compared to most conventional, double-beveled knives. I have other non-Emerson single-side beveled blades (serrated Spydercos, etc.), but the edge angles are a bit less abrupt on those. Obviously, it has to do with me, because it seems a lot of people are perfectly fine with the somewhat steeper single-sided bevel in use. I'd like to be able to use one as designed, as opposed to having it modified, if possible. Thanks for any comments.

I personaly like the EKI edge, I have been using Emersons for ages and I've never had any problems with performance.
If you don't like the original edge angle you can easily rebevel it to a more sutible angle for your needs or wants

If it's done right, I find the chisel ground edge works just as well as a conventional v-ground edge. I was rather surprised at the sharpness of the CQC-7A I bought a few months ago, and have found it performs well in everyday chores. As long as they don't grind the chisel ground edge too steep, I don't think you'll have any issues.

Thanks for the replies.
I guess now my biggest problem is trying to decide between an A-100 or a mini-7 in plain edge. I have about seven Emerson knives, but haven't bought an EKI for several years now.

i edc'd a tanto SOCFK which is probably the least suitable of any EKI's for utility for ~ a yr or so and it worked just fine, i never once thought "gee i wish i had my std 'v' grind whatever with me.....".

i mean hey come on its a sharp edge and will do most anything any other sharp edge will do.

the only thing i dont think its great for is certain kinds of fine cutting and maybe whittling, though really it will do both of those too.
