I have a piece of oosic thats the perfect size for my 119. I'd like to keep the original pommel and spacers intact so I don't want to experiment with how to remove the pommel. Anyone know if its threaded or pinned?

Odds are you have one that is pinned in. Only the old ones are screwed on, which you can see by looking at the end.

Scroll down just a few post and take a look at the post "Question on Buck fixed blade handles".

Jake,
The above expanation is correct. Even if it is an older one, it is probably glued on also. It can be very hard to remove the pommel. I saw it done this way, the guy used a high speed sanding belt and ground about 1/4" off of each side of the pommel. This heated up the glue enough to allow the pommel to be torn off with pliers. Yes, the pommel was useless after that exercise!

Take care,

Thanks guys, after reading the other thread I see I have a 3 liner and its pinned as well as glued, looks like I'll have to trash it to get it off. Maybe brass will look beter anyway
