Just wondering. I pronounce it with a long O. Is "bah ker" correct? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,
Jay

Say BERKER and at the first ER, round your lips. That's how it's said with the two Dots over the O.

That's pretty much it. The Umlaut (2 dots over the vowel) is difficult for most native English speakers. :foot: Imagine the word spelled as: "Boeker" and round the lips a bit as Lycosa recommends. When typing on a keyboard without an Umlaut, it is permissible to add an "e" after the vowel w/ the Umlaut.

Rugger ---- ask an English teacher, I'm a knife knut!! jk! I can't answer that question, sorry.

I lived in Germany for almost5 years- just long enough to get familiar w/ pronunciation. Dialects are another story altogether...
