I ordered this knife, and it is going to be my first Emerson.Cant wait to get it;).How does it perform for utility etc.tasks and general edc carry

It's practically perfect. I wear medium size gloves (7.5) and mine sits perfectly in any grip....giggitty.

The gradual rise of the belly lends itself extremely well to any cutting task. The point, though not as exaggerated as the Karambit or CQC-7B, still pierces with ease.

My first Emerson should be here in a few days. I got the CQC8 as I have a little bigger hands. I cant wait to try it out, it will be my duty knife and EDC. I am already thinking about picking up a combat karambit and CQC7. Just need to put a few knives up for sale first. Have a Busse or two that don't get any use, maybe that will feed this addiction.

In a word? "PERFECT"

Agreed.

I will add that the "mini" CQC-8 is as big as a large Sebenza. The handguard takes up quite a bit of the handle, I wear XL gloves and the Horseman barely fits my hand, but it is just big enough to work.

Yeah, the Horseman has the best ergos of the 4 Emerson's I've owned. That blade shape/length is just about perfect for EDC tasks.
