I can't stand this hot weather and I'm not much for summer. To me it's a boring time of year. I have been getting out and doing some groundhog hunting with my buddy who just had knee surgery. We were out all day today hanging my treestand for bow season which is 2 months away and doing some groundhog hunting.
As far as the knife business goes, I'm not breaking any records but have been steady. It's been good in a way as I can keep the wait time down and concentrate on each individual knife I'm making.
So what have you all been up to?

Frank, good luck with those fires. Stay safe. Scott, I know what you mean about the heat, and I ride a desk for my job! This summer has been very hectic, we just got the truck on the road. It's like riding a cinderblock down the road, but it is on the road. I get to take it "downyayshun". Going for a week starting tomorrow, for a family function, some fishing, and poking around the lower eastern shore. I plan on spending a lot of time in Chincoteague, hoping the weather stays nice down there for Monday. Other than that, I will be in and around Ocean Sh**ty. I always loathe the place until the day I drive down. The day I leave for the ocean, I am excited like a kid on Christmas. After a couple days in town I am grumpier than a grizzly bear. Only so much of that town you can take all at once. Once I get back from there, the only thing I plan on doing this summer are swimming in the pool and cutting grass. Too damn hot in August for fat people.

I've been swimming and doing a lot of PT for my middle aged back. AND, I was lucky to be able to score a Deer Creek knife from another forum member (thanks again, you know who you are :) ) and I've been trying out my new knife. I did thin the edge down just a bit so it whittles more easily, but this doesn't seem to have hurt the durability at all. Still holds a great edge, I think this is a terrific design, very versatile, and it will go with me on my next camping trip for sure.

Summer has been brutal hot. Not doin much. I find in the hot months I spend more time in my shop tinkering around in the AC with projects then in the woods. Lots of guys have winter projects. Thats my busy woods season. lol

Ambulance has been kicking my butt, so busy. Not much sleep lately. Other then that its been good. Gettin out with ol Iz Turley tomorow for some woods time in the river valley. It will be hot, but sometimes ya just need dirt. lol

I know I'll be glad when fall gets here. This week is going to be rough. Upper 90's, heat index in the triple digits. No air in the shop makes for brutal work days.

Wow man, get an AC! They are getting pretty cheap nowdays, totally worth it....

We went from woodstove weather to scorching hot with the airconditioner roaring away like a cesna in the window. Bush is drying out and smoke is in the air. We havn't had this kind of extended heat in 10 years. Good for the gardens. i enjoy the heat as long as I have airconditioning.

Pam and I have both been putting in extra hours at work all summer. Seems like we never have enough time to do the things we really enjoy. We did manage to slip down to the coast of NC for some fishing a couple of weekends ago. The air temperature was in the upper 90's, the water was in the upper 50's, the fishing was very slow, food and beer were excellent, and we had a great time! As for the heat, there have been several days at work when it felt good to step outside to cool off in the 90 degree sunshine. I'm not complaining though because this time last year I didn't have a job.
