If it is not raining too heavily, we will be frying ours.

Turkey will be injected with our mixture of OJ, herbs, and Maker's Mark, then fried for 30-40 minutes... Nothing better IMO..

I hope everyone has a great holiday.

One gets roasted in the oven, the other gets smoked with apple wood.

I used to deep fry at least one turkey but since I got my Weber Smokey Mountain, there is no chance of me going back to deep frying. :D

My mother in law cooks hers in beer. I don't know the details, but it is great.

The other Thanksgiving I am going to is frying flathead catfish, bluegills, and crappies. Beats the crap out of any turkey, any day.

another one for smoking. there will be an oven turkey as well but any excuse to get up at 6am and get the grill fired up works for me :D

Hi UDDwaine -

Deep fried in peanut oil, and injected with creole butter.

I may add some bourbon using your idea - good call!

The family would shoot me if I tried to go back to brining/smoking or baking the bird - they love the deep fried.

And, frankly, it gives us menfolk a reason to stand around the fryer and drink.

best regards -

I am getting hungry:D

I have fried the last few years, but this one will be stuffed and in the oven. Done properly its hard to beat and I can still watch the games while cooking it where its warm and dry:)

I eat mine RAW! Naw just toss in oven till it looks burn pull out and order pizza/Chinese

No turkey here.... I am avoiding all the main food events for the holiday season.... counter productive for weight loss....... IT does suck but I beleive it will pay off

I'm making mine the easiest way, going home to the see my family. No cooking needed on my end.

Fried one already this year and it was great. My wife slide some herbs under the skin and marinated it first. I didn't ask the details, just fried it when she told me to.

Hickory smoking a turkey breast for a gathering of three. Gotta go to TN to do it though.

Turkey breast is very healthy.

Traditional. 'Cept my grandmother used to make it with teh stuffing AROUND the bird. It's wet, not dry. But it's wet because. . . IT SOAKS UP ALL THE TURKEY GREASE! MMmmmmmm.

It's heaven on a turkey sammich (wheat bread UNtoasted, homemade cransauce, whitemeat sliced as thin as possible) the next day. . .s. LOL

Dang, I'm drooling already!

I plan on removing the backbone, laying it flat on the grill and cooking it with apple wood. Apple pecan dressing.

Well, in a word...chicken. Roasted. My company gave me a turkey, but one of our patients in town wasn't getting anything, so I gave 'em the bird! :D

Seriously...a #16 turkey for just me? Didn't seem right.
