I'm not a retailer but technically anyone who wants to sell something would be a reseller right? I'm looking for clarification before buying a Gold Membership, what is the website's definition of a reseller is it aimed at people buying from wholesalers and trying to selling mass quantity's in the exchange or does that also include someone who picks up used knives at yard sales and such and tries to sell them here?

No. A "reseller" is another term for retailer, dealer, broker, etc.

If you're just selling personal items here and there, Gold is all you'll need. If your business here is to sell knives for profit, well then that would make you a dealer.

DEALER / MATERIALS PROVIDER - Dealers are defined as anyone who purchases at wholesale pricing, or purchases items with the intent to resell (flipping). Other terms for dealers include purveyor, broker, reseller, etc. Materials Providers offer raw materials such as steel, handle materials, or other items related to knifemaking in general as typical stock for sale to the forum members or to the general public via their own store front or website.

Yeah I don't think I would be selling enough quantity to justify a dealer's membership, but I don't want to be put in a situation where I list one too many items and be banned for using gold membership improperly either.

The mods here are fair and easy going yet stern when it is called for. I'm sure a warning would be issued before an outright ban for an offense like that.

Hard to tell you what you classify as because we don't know your exact situation. Do you have a of business selling knives to gain a profit? Or do you just want to be able to unload some from your personal collection to hopefully recoup some funds put into them?

Edit to add: If my first post sounded like Gold Members cannot make a profit on what they sell then my apologies as that was the intent. Anyone can price your items at whatever you like. The difference is dealers are here strictly to gain a profit and showcase their store/wares, while regular Joe's that sell here of course would like to make a profit and sometimes do, yet more than likely are taking losses or breaking even. Just kind of how the hobby goes.
