How is Ron doing?

It has been awhile, and I know I am not exactly in the loop, but I was wondering if anyone here knew how Ron Hood was doing? Last I heard he was going in for surgery, but again, I am far from the loop, so I wondered if anyone here had heard how it went and how he was holding up.
