How is the BK 7 when used at the beach

I would sure imagine so. My BK9 quickly developes rust when used in Michigan winters if it is not immediately dried and oiled.

Carbon steel versus Stainless is like comparing your 1960s vintage transistor radio to your iPod. Just my opinion.

Can I use it without drying or cleaning and oiling it for the whole day, or will it rust within a couple of hours of not cleaning it?

I do not use mine near water but in the rain and slushing through lakes it has only minor specs of rust along the edge. I have not immersed mine in water but for everything else it is very corrosion resistent. The CU/7 is the best bang for the buck out there. Period.

The salt water can be a problem, but not as much as hanging that sheath off of your thong bathing suit. :D

Don't worry about it.
As soon as you get home, rinse it with freshwater, dry it and add a spritz of WD40.
I did this with my Schrade Sharpfinger on many saltwater outings.
The only time it rusted was when I left it for a week. Even then it was just a light fuzz of orange rust.

You don't want to leave it in the ocean though ;)
