I have been carrying a Spyderco Waved Delica for some time now and absolutly love the wave feature. This has got me interested in the original wave designer, Emerson, and I was wondering how the Emerson wave performed compared to the Spyderco wave (which they give full credit to Emerson for). Some of the Emerson knives look really great and have been catching my eye.

the wave is awesome. i have two, a combat kerambit and a cq13 bowie. i have handled the spyderco version, also very nice. if you like the delica, you will also like the cqc's. advantages are many different knives, ie sizes, shapes, etc., and a liner lock as opposed to a lockback. you will spend quite a bit more, at least double, but you will be HOOKED!

the EKI wave compared favorably to the spyderco wave imho, the spydie wave is a little larger than the wave on some EKIs (ie the SOCFK has a smallish wave) but imho the size of the wave matters little, it either is large enough to work, or it isnt, larger doesnt make it easier to engage.

i wish some of the nicer (ie non-FRN handles) spydercos were waved, i dont buy FRN handled knives anymore myself, nothing wrong with them mind ya, they just look "cheap" to me.
