I know Busse is doing a lot of research with the TB sale to find out what peeps like, but how bout we help them with a little marketing survey.

Post when and how you first got into Busse.

For me it was a video on Knifetests.com about 5 months ago (yes i know im a newb) that showed the FFBM kick A$$!! Now, I have just purchased my 7th Busse!

I was introduced to the Busse family companies through a discussion on hammockforums.net. I believe the discussion was centered around swamp rat, but I'm not really sure anymore. I haven't posted over there in quite a while - I haven't been camping much lately due to the hot weather and my lack of free time on the weekends, so haven't had reason to spend much time on a hammock camping forum.

Mine started in Dec 08. Saw some tests about infi and bought an AK here on the XC. Noss' tests helped fuel the first purchase and many more. There were some other test sites that helped but the actual footage from knife tests did it.

From Jerry's hand at a preparedness show in Indy around 1997 I think. He told me to just buy the thing because I had walked by the table 4 times and was making him tired. It was an early SHSH made from INFI. Still have the 1/100 SHBM I got about a month later!

I was doing internet searches in 2001 for the "best" camp knife out there. Busse's name kept popping up everywhere. I somehow found my way to this forum and never left.

I was checking out the blade section of AR15.com about 6 months ago, and SRKW and Busse kept showing up all over the picture and info threads. I saw a pic of an M6 and I was hooked. Then discovering they were limited run knives on both their respective sites, someone pointed me here. I found and M6, bought it... and now I need a Busse. Thats where I'm at.

Skunk owed me money and he paid me off in Sus Scrofas, now I'm hooked. :foot:

I accidently walked into this forum one day and never left :eek::eek:

Does anybody know the way out :confused:

I noticed Jerry's ad "You'll never have a broken heart" for the original ATS34 Steel Heart in the early 90's. It was in some outdoor/shooting magazine, I forget which one.

A few months ago I was checking out one of those extensive "Pics of your EDC" threads on EDCforums.com where I somebody had a Game Warden - interest turned to mild obsession, I found this forum and that was that :)

Now with a GW, AD and Skinny ASH, I'm trying to decide on the NO or FSH style...

I wanted a large blade for splitting wood and logs in the wilderness. Got the NMFBM thinking it would be great all around. Yeah, it is, if you're Paul Bunyan. So, went on the EDC quest and got a GW, BAD, Culti, Bear Cub, High St, SAR4, and Coyote Hack. The Coyote Hack fit my hand the best, so I kept it and let the others go to great homes, but they were all amazing in their own right. Now, I'm starting to get the itch for the ultimate mid-size!!!

I first got interested several years ago reading Cliff Stamp's reviews. I started a search for an EU-17, found one, and went from there!

First heard about it in a Hood's Woods survival vid if I remember right.
Looked them up, couldn't figure out how to order the one I wanted. Saw which was in production and took one look at the price, and promptly forgot about them.

Then a year or two later, I saw the Hood's Woods videos with a Fehrman, looked that up too. I really liked the looks of the Last Chance, took one look at the price and figured, ok, maybe this is what higher end knives cost.

I started looking for reviews, and found a review on knifetests and was unimpressed with how well the Fehrmann fared, plus they can rust. I looked up the one with the most spinning knives, there was a Busse. Read some more, bit the bullet, and ordered a NMSFNO.

I think that's about where I lost my sanity, since now I've bought 3 others, and a swamp rat, only being slowed down by my credit limit. :grumpy:

the first time i seen busse was at a silverrado gun show in virgina. it was the late 90's, and they were doing a demo at the table. it was a bm they were chopping a bunch of 2x4's. after soooo many chop's it would would still slice paper cleanly. after that i was hooked.

Jerrys reply to the OP in the Busse VS Chain thread convinced me to buy Busse.

The 100% forever warranty.

I have a huge antique Schrade collection and was on that forum, i,m always looking for the ultimate outdoor knife since i live in the woods and stumbled upon the Busse site, checked it out for a while and got my first Busse, a Skinny Ash, that was last August and 22 Busses later, i think i need therapy to stop the addiction, but i can't afford it cause i MUST buy more INFI!!!

I saw a photo of an original Satin Jack in one of the online gun fora and thought it looked pretty sweet. I wanted to learn more....

That was a lot of Scotch and Tequila ago.... the brain cells with that information are either long gone or had to be allocated to critical

life functions.
