How long are name changes taking?

It has been almost 2 weeks since I paid and requested a name change. I'm guessing the 48-72 hour timeframe no longer applies?

Looking at your thread history, it appears that you did not start the "required" thread - give me a few, and I'll get the info for you.

The following is quoted from the Rules & FAQ thread (my inserted comment in red):
If you want your username changed, you need to do the following:

1. Click on this link: Pay with Paypal | Pay with credit card

2. Place your order for a username change ($10).
Apparently, you've completed steps 1 & 2... but what about Step 3?
3. Post a thread here with the Change Username thread prefix, and title (Old username) to (new username). In that thread, put your order number, and what you'd like your username changed to. If you do not do so, your name will not be changed and we will assume that someone else is trying to hack your account.
Example: Change Username - Spark to SuperSpark

3A. IF YOU ARE SMART, YOU WILL SUBSCRIBE TO YOUR THREAD SO YOU ARE NOTIFIED BY EMAIL WHEN I POST A RESPONSE SHOWING YOUR NAME HAS BEEN CHANGED.

4. Wait patiently. Name changes will typically happen within 48-72 hours

It still requires you to follow the steps I believe..The link you provided is to pay for it, but it's a manual process. Spark sees many transactions a day, so it's pretty easy for them to get lost in the deluge.

I have used this method before, my name was changed within a day or two I have not needed to start a new thread. Whatever, I'll start a new thread.

Don't make the mistake of thinking that the moderation staff controls this; Spark has indicated he has some personal stuff taking his time in another thread on the site. I'm sure when he gets to this area, he will get you taken care of.
