so, i'm stripping the 16. most of them came off.. but some in jimping and other area is not coming off even after running razor on them. i'm thinking about leaving 16 covered in the stripper for about an 1 or more. does that stuff eat into the metal?

id say just find an old hard bristled brush, and scrub it. i used clean strip on my 14 but didnt leave it on for too long, it says it removes [place stuff here] from ____, ____, and Metal or somthing like that so i assume it doesnt eat metal, wouldnt give it a chance to try though XD
also dont get it on you, it burns :P

yupe. it burns.. nasty. but burn went away quick. i know i can sand it and all.. but i don't want to change the original finish that is on the blade. so looking into some other way to get rid of all the tiny coatings that's still stuck here and there. my other post had reply indicating brass brush didn't help other member all that much.

I just do a couple of sessions with it... spray a good coat.. let it soak for 15-20 min... then scrub with brass brush.... rinse and repeat. After 2 or 3 sessions you should be completely stripped... save for maybe the cutouts in the handles or something. I just use a small knife tip to scrape those areas and it usually peels right off.

+1 Exact procedure that I did. I also used a plastic putty knife to do the scraping without scratching the blade..but note, that the putty knife will start to melt after the second session.

You can leave it in there for as long as you like, it shouldn't hurt the knife. I may have gotten a bit impatient when I tried mine, so that might be why the brass brush didn't work (I didn't leave it in the stripper for a ton of time after that) but total I only let it sit for about 2 hours. Could've easily let it sit for longer.

I left it on a couple of knives for six hours once when it was too cold outside to work properly. Didn't hurt the steel one bit.
