I sent one of my Patriots in for repair the second week in January because when I tried to remove the screw for the thumbdisc instead of unscrewing it snapped off.

I hadn't heard anything, so I called the factory on January 20th just to make sure it had gotten there OK. The girl who answered said she would check, & came back on the phone & said that it was there "in the back". I told her there was no great rush, but could she give me some idea how long it would take.

She told me she really had no idea so that was how we left it. I'm still not in any great rush, but has someone who has had a comparable repair done please tell me how long to expect a simple repair like this to take??

I would say 3 weeks from the time they receive it. I go by that clock all the time and they are always right on time. There may be a wait time because of shot show that happened not too long ago

I've found EKI service to provide quick turns (< 3 wks) but, as stated, SHOT puts a dent in the schedules of participating companies - especially smaller ones.

I sent my mini 7 in for a new liner a few years back, had it back in a total of 9 days, including weekends.

Still haven't heard anything. Time to call again I guess.

If they haven't gotten to it yet, I'll have them send it back and fix it myself (probably what I should have done in the first place)

Called again today & the girl who answered said "your knife is in Ernie's office"

I chuckled and asked "is that a good thing or a bad thing??" She did say they got behind from the Shot Show but would get to it eventually.

I would kinda like to have it back, it is one of my all time favorite EDC knives :-)

Still haven't heard one thing from Emerson.

I have been buying/using Emerson knives for years but this is the first time I have ever returned one for service.

At this point, I would have to be really desperate to ever return one again. I have read tons of opinions about how great Emerson C.S. is, but I certainly have not found that to be the case myself. I would be fine with this if ANYBODY from Emerson had contacted me in any way to tell me what was up, but I have emailed a couple times/called numerous times etc. & never got any response at all.

Any company that can't even bother to answer a very politely worded email has dropped considerably in my view. For years I have recommended Emerson to anybody who would listen, given them as gifts etc etc (and own 10 of them myself) but it will be a cold day in hell before I ever buy another one at this point.
