How long does it take for my status to change to "gold member?"

Just curious how long it takes for the gold member status to take effect? I paid 5 days ago and nothing has changed

Your status has changed. If you click on your profile, you will see Private Messages are enabled. But you need to update your status for it to show. Click on the payments link and select your Gold membership for it to show up.
