I like the size of the Cadet, but prefer a pen blade over a nail file. I will have to keep an eye out for one with the pen blade.I'm curious on when the first version of the Cadet came out for the fist time? I'm thinking about the one with a small blade instead of the file as on the present ones. When did they change, by the way?
Regards Erik
The Recruit and the Cadet are the same 84 mm size, the recruit has the pen blade, the cadet has the file although I understand at one time the Cadet did come with two blades, Cadet II perhaps. The main issue with many of us is that the Cadet is only scaled in Alox and the Recruit is only in plastic. Seems stupid of Victorinox since there appears to be a decent market for both scaled both ways and the tooling is already in use to do both in either scale.
It's the Recruit today; large and small blade plus the openers. I's my EDC, just wish it was available in Alox.I had one of the Cadets with the pen blade in the mid-1980s. Surely wish Victorinox would go back to that configuration.
It make no sense they would sell loads, many of the older versions are popular and would sell as well.I had one of the Cadets with the pen blade in the mid-1980s. Surely wish Victorinox would go back to that configuration.
