How long have you carried One CRK continuously?

I am trying to get a feel for how my Large 21 will carry so,

How long have you carried your CRK without changing to another knife in your rotation?
What is the general usage that the knife has seen over that time frame?
What was your maintenance schedule, if you didn't feel the desire to stick to one, how frequent did you strop/sharpen?

I will likely be carrying a secondary blade, either a GEC sodbuster in O1 or a SAK cadet for a more family friendly sized/looking knife.

When I got my first sebenza in 2006, it immediately became my only carry. It was my faithful companion for 3 years until it came up missing one day. I still am not sure exactly what happened to it, I think my daughter threw it away:barf:
It was a small regular, and I didn't know jack at the time about sharpening so it went a good while before hitting the stones....... Not sure about the exact time but it was awhile and I think I just sent it back to Idaho.
As for maintaining the knife, I did take it apart to clean it every few months and add more lube.
 
Not very long! I usually carry a small pen knife during workdays in an office environment and then switch to a CRK when I get home. So I would guess 2 weeks. On the other hand I would guess that I've carried the same CRK at least once a day for ~8 months....
 
I've carried my large regular now for about months straight. I've used it to cut apart heavy boxes that toilet and water tanks come in to the backs of ceramic tiles to cut apart the wedding that holds sheets come in. I strop as needed, usually every second day or use my sharpmaker. Then once a month or so, use an wicked edge to get any chips out of the blade from staples. Held up very well for such a old knife, but now I am seeing why these should be used rather then admired, they keep on working and asking for more. One of my better knives for sure.
 
Several years. Ever since I started buying sebenzas I have carried them. I have carried Hinderer, Strider, and others, but I always come back to crk after a short time. Nothing compares to them.
 
I rotate every month between a Umnumzaan, 25 and various 21's. Can't bring myself to be a one knife carry only type of person. I usually hone with a ceramic rod and strop when needed. That ranges from the end of the day to the end of the week.
 
Small Insingo everyday for 3 years with the occasional Lg Reg/Insingo/25 in rotation.
 
The only knifes in my rotation are CRK's with a few Spydies in there too.

Mostly CRK's tho......about 90% of the time, for a little more than 2 years.

I just keep coming back to CRK. I play with others, but none of them are just right.
 
Carried a plain Jane large 21 for a year straight. Now I am carrying a 25 micarta and then can tell its gonna be in my pocket a lot longer than that.
 
Ever since I bought my small cf insingo on the exchange a year ago it's been in my pocket. I just can't seem to use anything else!
In terms of use, pretty much just food prep, opening packages then breaking the boxes down, and the occasional odd EDC job.
My cleaning schedule is every other month and strop every weekend.
One thing that I've noticed over the year is that I don't use my knife everyday so the small carry size is nice, but when I do need it it gets the job done.
 
I carried my first small Regular for around 3 years before I moved it on for another small Regular(go figure!). That was about a decade ago now, and I've alternated between carrying some flavour of CRK most of the time since. The first one probably saw more sharpenings and break-downs than it needed. Since the first one, maintenance has only been performed as needed. Use-wise, mine have seen duty ranging from cutting bagels to fire hose and have never let me down.
 
I've been carrying the jigged madagascar rosewood Mnandi in this photo pretty much everyday for over two years now. I occasionally carry an additional knife or two, but this one is always with me. It's always resides in the pouch in the left of the pic.

I am Really liking how this thread is panning out! If any push was needed you all have assuaged any concerns I may have had about using this for an extended period of time.

Now to sell off some of my knives that won't see much pocket time...

I got a somewhat rare Lg Serrated 21 on Friday and I can easily see myself carrying this one quite a lot. I like to rotate my CRKs but this one will definitely be carried more than the rest.
 
Have had my small 21 about 14 months but have carried it pretty exclusively for the past 2 to 3 months with a couple days having the addition of a Spyderco Military also. I have most always carried it clipped except when I first got it, trying to let some natural pocket wash develop but I think soon I'll have to go to 99% pocket sheath carry due to work. Started out with pocket slip carry this weekend at a major league baseball stadium and fortunately didn't get checked, and am carrying that way today. I've yet to sharpen the factory edge.
