How many 0780s were made?

I remember Thomas said he'd get us the final production numbers of the 0780. Can anyone confirm the number?

Please don't derail the thread, the subject is about production numbers!

I thought I seen somewhere it was 340 or so. I could be wrong...

Just looked and mine says 373, so maybe it was closer to 400?

I feel like there were more made than there are out in circulation. I know KAI had a few returns on this model because certain issues people had (lets not get into that, its been beaten to death). I had heard that there were roughly 300 knives made but I wouldn't know for certain. Maybe a KAI representative would be able to give a more approximate number.
 
I have 0087 and 0378. It think that I remember reading that it was around 300 that actually shipped (like 2shot said), around 400 that were produced, and of course, considerably less than 300 still in circulation. I would love to get the official word on these as well. I love both of mine; the one that is "perfect" is in the collection for the time being, and the one that is "less than perfect" sees lots of time in my edc rotation.

I'm assuming we will never know the true answer due to not all made it out of the factory, and the few that were also returned.
 
I had three of them...sent one back for a 0700, since it was all wonky. Not a bad turnout, really. I sold one, and the last one sits safely in my closet next to its friends. I remember when I spoke to Steve at Kershaw/ZT, he said the same, that they shipped just under 300 pieces, and had several in house for repairs and trying to get some good working models out for replacement. So, I'd say 300 out the door would be a generous estimation.

I love mine...it's just so special to take out and look at. I know that I was part of ZT history. Group hug!
 
I only scored one, and now I feel that I was lucky to get it, #288. I would have had more, but the pre-order fell thru. Oh well, us 0780 owners are an elite few. :D
