Ok I am just wondering how many spyderco's where made into a carbon fibre version,

I have the following and need to know what to look for to finish the collection,

- PE Civilian
- SE Civilian
- SE Delica
- SE Dragonfly
- CE Ladybug
- SE Police

Now I know thier is an opposite to each SE knife (or PE one), but what models am I missing, fill me in Please :)

- Cricket
- Michael Walker
- ?
- ?

I think there was a Navigator. The Spyderco story showed a pic of one.

Well, there's a Military out there. :D

(So far as I know, there's only one CF Military, though Sal keeps teasing us about making a production run )

The first and most important one missing from your list is the original:

C22 - Michael Walker knife - certainly the best of the lot since they were hand-finished by Klotzli.

This should set you back $200 (if you are lucky) or closer to $300.

IIRC, there were two CF Military proto's.

The original Michael Walker and the Cricket that I can think of. (as mentioned).

There were concept models made of various models at various times, but so far, I believe that would cover production.

Hi U812. We've not yet made the Navigator in CF. It is a consideration at this time.

Thanks Sal It would be a nice one but please do the Military first.

But, but... there IS a CF Navigator (and a CF Pegassus) on the inner cover of The Spyderco Story. There is also a CF Copilot.

Whoo Hoo! Even better yet just make it! :D

Sal, i understand that the carbon fiber Navigator is under consideration, but do you have any idea when a decision will be made? If it is approved for a limited run production how long after the decision will it take for the run to be completed?

Hi Easyrider, once a decision is made to run with a new material on an existing design, and the project has begun, construction to delivery will normally be about 4 months.

If there are already too many new projects in the pipeline, then the construcion beginning is delayed, so thee is more going on than just the decision.

Also, we will most often refine a design when making these kinds of changes. In the case of the Navigator, new tooling would have to be made to accomadate the design changes scheduled. They are small refinements, but ones that we believe will improve the design as a "using tool". New tooling can add several months depending on the type of tooling.

Thank you Sal. If I understand you correctly it would take a minimun of 4 months, but it is more likely to take 7-10 monthes because of production schedules and retooling due to improvements. I sincerely hope to see the decision is made to produce the carbon fiber Navigator, even if it may take upwards of a year to actually get one into my hands.
