I was reading this thread and noticed how differant the serrated blade looked from anything I have seen.

I have not given it much thought as to the differant types of serrated blade out there.

Who makes the best cutting serrated blade?

I figure companies trademark ther serration pattern. So there is probably one for every knife company

Spyderco serrations work well for me as do Benchmades.

Quite honestly though I think that micro-serrations such as found on some cold steel knives or the cheaper Ginsu type knives sometimes outperform my more expensive serrations. They just won't sharpen at all but initially they cut very efficiently.

Inverted serrations work well in the kitchen. I've exerienced this with my Trident bread knife. It's also easier to sharpen seeing as more of the blade is exposed.

Those are the 3 types of serrations that I can think of and have experience with.
