Hello I Am Wondering If You Guys Can Tell Me How Many Different Variations There Were Of Each Model? I Was Aware Of Two 560's And I See On The Bay There Is A Proto/testing Model 560 Also As Well As The Regular And The Crystal/champagne 560's And The 186's In Regular And In Black
The Bcci Website Wont Let Me Download The Model Historys When I Try To Open File It Says It Is Corrupted. Is Anyone Else Having This Trouble?

Hi BuckToBuck...
I'm guessing there were about half a dozen 560 knives. But I'm not certain. Just using this as an excuse to show off mine. It was advertised on the auction as having a titanium blade, but I don't think so. It is a 560 XlTi Crystal (Silver).

Excellent Pics Goose Ill Get Some Pics Up Later.
Even Though I Have Quite A Few 110's Im Not A Real Big Fan But I Really Like Your Damascus Indigo Very Nice Indeed But It Looks Like The Bolsters Might Have Some Markings Eh? Thats Too Bad They Could Probably Be Buffed Outas For The 560 Crystal That Looks Quite A Bit Different From Mine (i Call Mine Standard) I'll Get A Pic With My 186 For Comparison
Any Idea What They Call Some Of The Other Variables/combos?

As far as I can tell, the 186 was first and only lasted a couple of years. It was replaced by the 560 XTil. After a couple of years the 560 was offered in two colors, gray and black. that lasted until 1991 if I'm not mistaken. The final version was the 560 XTil Crystal which has the flakey type finish to the titanium. This one lasted until sometime in the late 90's and is the most common. I may be wrong on the dates but I think this about covers it. The BCCI website has some literature on the various iterations offered throuth the years. Of course you have to be a member of the BCCI in order to access their treasure trove of information. (for those non-members reading this) :)

hello mike thanks for the extra info so that makes it 3 different 560's plus the proto/tester on ebay.
Am i right in saying there are 2 models of the 186?
Last year i had trouble downloading the catalogues from the bcci site some of them i had to try a half dozen times before i got a file that would open properly

I found the information under 186/560 Special Projects and had to save it to my hard drive and then open it up (pdf file) I'm not familiar with a 186 prototype but am interested in knowing about it if it exists. There are actually four types of 560's, the original "natural" titamium model that first came out, the gray and black versions that came next and then the crystal version. Could you list the link to this proto tester? I'd like to see what they have to say about it.

Thanks! That 110DM Indigo belongs to ZZJake (I added credit text to the pic). It is quite nice. I was thinking of buying it but it had brass and not silver bolsters....picky, picky.

Someone had recently posted a very nice pic of their 560 set. I couldn't find it but am hoping that they provide the link or re-post. It is a nice collection from one of the regulars at this bar.

You can sign up for an account on Shutterfly.com or smugmug.com . Upload your photos, SHARE them and get the link of the SHARE. Then type the link here.
Example: http://mongoose.smugmug.com/photos/sspopup.mg?AlbumID=1295775

Or, you can get a website, post your pics there, and then link them from here.
Example: (like I did in a previous post in this thread where you saw the indigo)

There are other ways I am sure, but I'm cheap and easy.

I will say that it is a verifiable prototype. For the sake of fair play, I gotta tell you I may just put down a bid on it myself. That is quite an unusual piece.
