The series was two 110's, they were issued in 1993. The Tyrannosaurus had a wine colored scale and a total of 525 were made (I know what the card shows, this data is on the BCCI list and value is $150 for T-rex, $125 for pte-don), The Pteranadon had orange colored scales and a total of 250 were made. That was the series, However, there were samples of a third Dino that did not make it to issue, the Triceratops.
There have also been other Buck knives issued that had dino's. But, they were not a part of this series.

John, what about the 525s... That have the same dino's on them... I think they came out the same year... Are they part of the series??? ITE
In addition, two of my favorite Dino era etched knives should be mentioned here. In 1984 a 501 was issued with a Saber tooth Tiger and Ivory scales, 500 made. Also in 1984 a 110 was issued with Mastodons etch, Ivory scales, 250 made.

Armand, ... after looking at the BCCI List you are correct the 525 knives were issued in the same year 93 and have the same Dino's printed on the handles. T-Rex had 1656 knives made and the Petr-don had 2000 knives made ...

JB, ITE, I just had a look at the small dinos. The T-Rex is from 92 - may be an early production. But the Pte-Don is from 96. Is it an early build out?
Best, Haebbie

Haebbie, I'd like to see the graphics on the handles if you get a chance. Thank you. This has turned out to be an interesting thread.
Hi Herbert,
Remember when they build these LE's they use whatever blades are in the pick bins at the MFG
time! Some old blades are used up that way all the time. The same thing can go for using up old LE
supplies for years to come after the LE issue. The spirit of 76 knife blades/parts were still being used
up 30 years after the true issue date.
So your 96 blade, Build out, blade replacement, old stock consumption...your guess is as good as mine.
I'm just quoting info on the BCCI LE sheet and the info I share is only as accurate as the data sheets.
I have the 100 or so sheets printed for easy access and I miss some stuff also. Each of you BCCI members
have that info at your finger tips, via key board. Go and have a look for yourselves, one of the best perks
for being a club member IMHO.
110dave has one of the mastodon 110's, maybe you guys can get him to post a good photo of it for all of
us to drool over

Hi JB,
thank you for your detailed post. Yes, before I bought the two knives I had a look at the BCCI data sheet
and found the mfg date 1993. The more I was surprised to find different date codes. And a second yes: I made
my thoughts why that could be. That's a good sentence that the info is only as accurate as the data sheet ...
Another example: I made a list with all the 425 listed in the sheets. One or two are listed twice and others are
missing. Also there are mistakes in the description, or the knives were not manufactured according to plan -- who
knows. But all these inaccuracies are making "The Bucks" so likeable --- for me anyway.
Best,
Haebbie
P.S.: My English is good enough for a few small talk but very often I'm not sure to use the correct terms especially
when I dig them out of the dictionary. I'm very sorry when I'm off the mark. You would do me a great favor when
you tell me when I took the wrong notions. Thanks!
