Hey all, I'm going to be selling my Benchmade Griptilian D2, which is my current EDC. I'm planning on purchasing my first Emerson knife to become my EDC.

Currently I'm undecided on which model I want. So far, my two favorites are the CQC-8 and the CQC-15. I know the CQC-7 is really popular, but I don't really want the full on tanto. I'm having a hard time deciding which one to get. Once I decide which model I want, I need to decide the size. I'm considering getting the "Super" size of either model, but just curious how big they'll be for EDC.

I'm fairly new to Emerson knives and could maybe use some opinions or thoughts of some more experienced. I sure appreciate your help.

I don't think Emerson makes a Super 15.
They do make a Super 7, 8, and Commander though.

For what it is worth I concur with amen74. I edc a 15, and would probably carry a super if I owned one.

Mini CQC-15 is something I am considering. It has one of the most unique and useful blade out there- I think. It's got a Tanto stabber point turned into full belly for slashing and cutting, then it goes into a negative belly for more forceful cutting...

I don't think you can ask for more in a blade...

I think you're right...they don't make a Super 15. I tend to find larger knives a bit more useful. I'm really liking the compromise between the 7's tanto and the Commander on the 15...I think I might go with that. Thanks for the input guys!

Now, I just need to decide between black or satin finish...think I'll be going satin. Decisions, decision...

of what?

really any of the waved emersons (and all the non waved emersons i have handled too FWIW) deploy just fine.

The Super 7 has been my go to knife since I got it back from Reese. Here are 2 Reese modded 7's:
