How many folks are actually using their Kershaw ETs?

Hello Again:
I admit, I recently purchased the ET based in part on its "gadget" quotient, in part on the Kershaw reputation, and in part because it wasn't very expensive. When I received the knife in the mail, I couldn't stop playing with it, but I can't help think that it is a bit impractical for everyday use. Ironically, one thought that dawned on me is that the ET might be an excellent camp knife since it would apparently be easy to clean after using it for food prep.

Anyone else out there actually using the knife instead of just admiring the technology?

Cheers,
Mitch

I too, bought the knife mainly for it's "gadget quotient", thinking it was the neatest thing I'd ever seen. But after a few days, I found myself carrying the knife all the time. It's nice and light, just the right size, and came with a wickedly sharp blade. Also, the blade is a great overall shape. I usually intersperse it now with 4 or 5 other blades on a daily basis.

Easy to clean, with all those moving parts? Try a fixed blade, or a slipjoint.

Otherwise, I'd like to get one since it does have that gadget appeal. I haven't seen one in person yet, though. If they get one in stock at my local store, I'll probably buy it.

yea i hang that sucker right on a belt loop of my jeans almost everyday. its awesome to play with, except for the occasional "thumb-in-the-way" cut. also i have a question, the little ball on the end of the clip, can it be used like one of those car window breakers if u ever get trapped in ur car?

I agree. It is incredibly lightweight but does not feel cheap or flimsy.

I've used mine to cut cardboard and do fine cutting with the tip. I plan to use it more in the future.

I've asked this before and so have others on BFC, and maybe one of you can finally answer it... Can these ETs be opened and closed with one hand?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, they can. However, you should be careful when doing this. Closing with one hand involves pinching the end of the knife. You must take care to keep your fingers free of the closing edge when doing this. I've cut my ring finger slightly because I wasn't watching what I was doing.

Hi all,

In reference to being able to open and close the E.T. with one hand, I currently can do that 10 different ways. It seems that here at the factory, someone comes up with a new opening/closing technique every other week. I can open and close (one handed) the E.T. around 60+ times in a 30 second timed "sprint".
