I am not usually one to let frustration get the best of me, but I must admit I just had a pretty mind numbing experience.
Let me fill you in, because I'd love some feedback here. The last three weeks I have been debating which (new) EDC knife to purchase. For the past 5 years, my EDC has been a Zero Tolerance 0350 (black). A wonderful S30V blade, but when sharpening... well, Carpel Tunnel Syndrome comes to mind.

Anyway, my decision came down to 2 Knives.

1. The newer ZT/Henderson 056X series (I prefer the 0561 brown).
2. The older but still sexy and beefy at the same time Benchmade 2750 Adamas Auto (Sand)

Naturally I bought both. I only own 1 knife, the ZT 0350 which after 5 years of moderate use, is barely scuffed up.

Purchasing the ZT 0561 was easy as pie. Amazon...picked a seller....badaboom ping kapow! DONE.

Purchasing the Benchmade 2750....not so much.

Several sellers were out of stock, or only had black or partially serrated.
And I noticed a couple sellers ONLY SOLD to Law Enforcement/Govnmt Personnel.

I ended up buying from OpticsPlanet, because they stated as long as my state laws allowed for the ownership of the Knife; I could purchase it.

So I buy it, and TWO DAYS later, I get an email stating I would have to show proof of Law Enforcement/Government status, OR I had to fill out and sign some ridiculously elaborate form, print it, hand sign it, then fax it over to them. Needless to say, I was a bit upset, mainly for the delay, but as well as the many steps required to purchase the knife.

To the elusive point of this post: Is this normal? I live in Georgia, and we don't HAVE knife laws, other than 5" + requires a CCW of sorts.
Now that I am beginning to get sucked into the beauty of handcrafted, lovingly sculptured steel; will I have to put up with this crazy fear-mongering often??

I'll say the same thing I wrote to Optics Planet: "It was easier to buy my AR-15, than to buy this knife".

Sorry for the novel, I just had to get it out =D. By the way, I really like the forum, I hope my first post didn't leave a bad aftertaste. Thanks ya'll!

A lot of people here try to buy their knives from businesses which have membership or sponsor accounts here. You might pay a little more but it's worth the peace of mind knowing you're dealing with well known companies that have great customer service.
