Every since I was a little kid and saw my father clean a trout with one of these I've loved them. They sharpen up great and get the job done. If you loose or break one, who cares, it's only $10. I got a bunch of these sitting around the house. I carry them every so often when I want to carry a slip joint.

I carry an Old Timer Bearshead Trapper quite a bit. It is as good a cutter as you can find, and a whale of a knife for the money.

Heavy on my EDC rotation is an Uncle Henry premium stockman. Plenty useful, non-threatening, unobstrusive, and purty too.

From the mid 60´s to 1976 I had a mid size OT stockman, then I replaced with the Uncle Henry premium stockman that I still carry today.

I have many old timers, more than a few of them are waldens. You just can't beat the carbon steel. I have a couple newer ones in my EDC rotation, wlifter123 is right. If you break one, you still feel bad, but not too bad.

Hey! I have a 34OT, which is a middleman stockman. I carry that along with my Buck/Strider tanto- I have many, many bases covered with that combo!

For the past month or so I've been carrying an 80T in my coin pocket. Simple, traditional, useful, and CHEAP!

Just bought one,(Premium Stockman) at Sears, I always liked the Uncle Henry series with the one year loss guarantee, I never used the 1 year loss clause, I've been tempted, but I guess I'm too damn honest.

Schrade was 1 of the first knives I carried as an adult,(still sounds funny at 42 to call myself an adult:rolleyes: )for an EDC.

I carry a Old Timer stockman quite a bit. The blade selection is really handy, and they don't get the slightest look from people. Can't beat the price either, I've gotten quite a few from flea markets for $3-5 bucks in minty shape.

I would like to see them use yellow Derlin more often on their line though.

I really like Schrade knives but refuse to carry them, purchase them or support them. The company is on my personal boycott list as I still remember unfondly the old folder I sent back to them for repairs years ago.

After a significant wait, they sent me a letter that said that they would only fix the knife for a fee that resembled the street price of the same model, brand new and, if I didn't want the knife fixed, they would return the knife to me if I prepaid to them a shipping and handling charge of about half what the knife was worth - just to get my broken knife back. They won that one, but lost a customer forever and I vowed to share the story with anyone who would listen.

There are too many knife companies who really take customer service and customer loyalty seriously for me to ever go back to Schrade.

I carry a Schrade Tough Chip mini tool. Not exactly a knife but it is extremely well made and the small blade it has is quite sharp.

My EDC for the past 40 years is a small Schrade Walden stockman. About 3 1/2" closed but serves all my everyday needs. If I need something larger, I get the Buck 110!

I carry an Old Timer hunting, fishing and trips to the shooting range.
I really cant remember what model it is. But it has 2 large blades and looks similar to the one you have. Oh yes I have had this knife nearly 10yrs and it is still going strong.:)

I have several Old Timers. One on my desk (light administrative duty ~ opens envelopes. . .cuts string, twine, 550 cord, wax string, tape, etc.). One in each tool box (there are 3). One in each tackle box (there are 2). One in the pouch of the mountain bike. And one in the tool pouch of my motorscooter.

They are inexpesive, easy to sharpen, edge lasts for quite a while and the knife (in general) takes a beating.

I love the hell outta mine ! :D

well its good to know some of the knife collectors out there carry them...good knives and for the money excellent value. my next schrade if there still available when i goto purchase on is the SJK1 pictured below...not bad looking IMO.

Of my left pocket knives :D I have two Schrades. A 104OT Minuteman and a 34OT Middleman. Both have served me well.
