The Oso Sweet was made for mass merchandising stores like Dick's, Wal-Mart etc..
They wanted a certain price point, so it was made over there instead of here.
It was discussed here quite a bit with some controversy that probably doesn't need to start up again.
Kershaw manufactures the majority of their product (80% of sales as I understand) in Oregon.
The other is divided up between Japan, China and Sweden.
There are 36 products manf in China and most of those are duplicates of each other.
ie. Vapor, Vapor ST, Vapor Black etc...5 verions ea of the Blade Trader and Carabiner alone and 8 models of the Vapors.
Only 4 products that make up half of all the items. So, not a whole lot.
I believe the Vapor is the biggest mover in the Chinese line-up.
There was also a product called the Ace, but it was discontinued last year. (thanks for remembering that presz.)
Japan production is 44 items of which include some high end stuff like the 1030, 1050, Lahar
and 24 of those 44 are traditional blades, like lockbacks and folding knives.
There are 2 Swedish products, the Fire Starter and the Folding Saw.
There is only 1 product from Taiwan. Camp Axe
USA Made product? 117 products under the Kershaw label.
That does not include the ZT line which is made in the same Oregon factory.
Hope that helps folks.
And yes, it took a good bit to compile all of the different products and sort them out by country.
