I saw a thread with this question but not a poll.
Also, feel free to leave comments and about your favorite of those knives

51-100, not 51-10. i cant edit at the moment

Most knives I've ever owned at one time, probably 55 or so.

Now I'm in the low 40s.

I have a box of knives I want to sell. I'd like to get to around 20. Some I haven't carried in years.

The last few years the most pocket time has gone to Spyderco Delica 4 FFG, Endura, and Ontario Rat 1 D2.

I started accumulating knives at 13 or 14 years old. I'm 61 now, so I've been working at it a long time.
From flea markets and stores, to catalog mail order and then the Internet, I've gone through the entire evolution.

I picked a number based on a guess, but I really never counted them all, I'd probably be shocked.
When I retire , I'll sell off whatever I've forgotten about and keep whatever I want to pass on to family.

what I’ve bought so far this year. Don’t judge me I just got into addiction. Gets easier and easier to spend $200+ on a knife.

I've definitely had more than 51, but have sold off a bunch over the past few years. Going to whittle it down again in the next few months.

I've got somewhere around 70. If I count kitchen knives, multi-tools, and machetes it would be close to 100. I could probably narrow it down to 30 keepers, but I've got a lot of low-mid tier stuff from when I started that don't seem worth the time to sell. Plus sometimes its fun to lay them out in the order I bought them to see how my tastes have changed. I wish I still had my first few knives which were gifts from my dad or my uncles, but I wasn't very good at keeping track of things when I was a kid.

I own over 330 knives in my collection that I've bought in just a couple of years. I maintain an inventory list to keep track of them all.

This does not include all of the kitchen and other knives that I have lying around that I actually use.

About 100 of them are cheaper Kershaw/CRKTs that are really of no importance; just bought them early on because they were cheap, that I should sell (if I could get any $ for them) BUT then again, I have a variety of Kershaw/CRKT vintage/premium knives like the Kershaw Tilt and CRKT Ti Hi-Jinx that are quite valuable/collectible.

The majority of the rest are Spyderco and ZTs with a variety of other brands making up the rest that, including autos, balis, folders and fixed blade knives, that mostly cost between $100-300 with a few $400 knives mixed in.

Scared to add up how much I spend on all of these knives but just a eyeball estimate would put it at well over the cost of a nice car.

It's SO easy (at least for me) to spend $ on knives. LOL! ;)

PB, nice collection! I just picked up a freek as well. I know what you mean about it getting easier to buy more expensive knives. Not too long ago my "grail" knife was about $200. "The only expensive knife I would ever need (want)." It's funny how spending a certain dollar amount once changes the amount you are willing to spend in the future.

It’s my first BenchMade and it’s a stout knife. Looking at getting the Mediator auto next.

Seven small folders, seven medium folders, and seven large folders in the safe, plus several cheap MIC folders that I throw in checked baggage, plus three handmade fixed-blades and three slipjoints that I don’t use very often.

A lot more than I need, but then again, need doesn’t really have much to do with what I purchase....

Truthfully, I own far more "users" than I can wear out in the time I have left before I'm looking up at the grass.
