So if we get 175 desert models ordered and only 125 Limited Editions ordered first, then that is how the split will fall. 175 deserts and 125 numbered limited editions!!!!! This could possibly prove to be the smallest numbered edition of any limited edition that we have ever made!!!!

I've seen #318 of the ABLE, that doesn't leave room for many DABs. If Jerry stuck to the numbers it would mean that the DAB is more rare than the ABLE. I wonder how many total ABs were made in the end.

I see what you are saying. The Desert AB's are not numbered. So that would mean that at most there are 32 Desert AB's??

I know that sometimes people request specific numbers (ie to match other numbered knives they already have) so I wouldn't put a lot of weight in the fact that there is a #318. I'm sure there is, but there may not be a #317, 316, 315 etc.

They may have jumped from the last number in order up to to #318, to fill a request.

That is just a guess and I don't know if this is how it worked or not.

Sometimes people request specific numbers to be put on their LE's

For example someone might want #357, that doesn't always mean there were 357 made. They might just number them out of order. They may only make 200 but instead of #200 being numbered 200 it gets #357.

So if I had an Uncle Mofo with number 187 I could possibly request number 187 for my ABLE so that I'd have a set. However, it doesn't quite work the same for the lower numbers.

This is just a theory and may be completely wrong.

Yes, but did you request #320?

No I did not request it. I would never have thought to do that. Maybe Jerry can shed light on the numbers.

I see what Eric means. For what it is worth I have #320 in my possession.

Did you aske for #320 to match your other blades or for whatever reason??

Guess I should have read further down the thread before posting. Apologies:rolleyes:

Serial numbers suck so bad...If it ain't #000 or #001 why not just get the hell away from numbers and have text etched. "Like what dear Dark Nemesis?" some of you inquiring minds may be asking...well tommy that depends on what fits you best. For me it's "prototype" but for others it may be "bird lover" or possible "Idaho's fugitive polecat" and for those crazy 70's people "tannic addict"....you get the idea.

The rumor that's going around is because of all the hub-bub over the serial numbers from now on all serial knives will be sold in the following manner.

1 satin finished knife---sterile

1 Large crayon (use your imagination)

This way you can get whatever number you like and change it when you are tired of that one, however, please note that the special cloth used to wipe off the old crayon marks will cost extra.

If Progunner has #320, then something doesn't jibe with the layed out system. I KNOW that there are more than 30 desert BA's out there. So either there were more than 350 made, or the LE numbering system didn't pan out.

God! Think of all the protos that will be running around! :D

I couldn't care less about the resale value of my ABLE, I will pass it on to posterity. But I am curious, how may LE's and how many Desert Anorexic Badgers are there?
