Will all of the Starmates be numbered or only the first 500 or 1000? The only problem with numbered knives is I feel like I cant carry it because it may have collector value. Which basically means I will have to purchase 2.

I believe the first 1000 will be numbered. Since the collectors get the first 200, that means 201-1000 will be out on the market.

Hi Shootist,
I wouldn't worry about using that numbered Starmate. Unless you have one of the really low numbers or number 1000 it shouldn't change the collector's value that much. I just posted a response to serial numbers on the General Forum under the title of Advice for Serial numbers or something close to that.

In a nutshell though, Levine reports that serial numbers do not significantly add to the value of a production knife unless it is a very low number or a last of a series so save your bucks if you want and feel free to use the knife....I would

The most value about serial numbers are personal. A lot of folks try to get their number on a serialized knife and that certainly adds to the sentimental value of the knife so that would make it a pretty special piece.

Sorry if I'm rambling, it's getting late....night

Regards,
