How many of you carry your Sebenzas in Sheaths/Pouches?

I recently considered carrying this way, just curious to see who carries this way already.

Also, any recommendations on custom makers for sheaths/pouches(ie leather, kydex, etc.)?

I have a variety of pouches, a few Gfeller, some G2 custom leather, and TAD cordura. All depends on knife/dress/mood.
 
I usually prefer using a small belt sheath rather than pocket carry. When I wear braces to hold up my pants, I usually opt for the lighter Mnandi for pocket carry.
 
I carry my large Sebbie in a CRK leather belt sheath. And at times, I carry my small one in it too.
 
My small Sebenza is clipped to my pocket - but either the Umfaan (or Mnandi) is in its pouch in my shirt pocket.
 
I've carried most of my Seb's in a sheath at one time or another. In fact, I just ordered(well, a couple weeks ago) a custom sheath for my new LE wood inlayed Seb. I'm hoping it will be here in a day or two. Check out www.vessleatherworks.com. Some pretty neat stuff.

I carry mine in a G2 (ie) Gary Graley horizontal sheath.very secure yet handy to get at
 
G2(Gary) does make an outstanding sheath. I didn't post a link to him only because last I heard, he wasn't taking orders of anything new. A few years ago he made a fantastic combo sheath for me that holds a large reg Seb and a Mnandi together. Anyhow here is a link to his site...

Thanks guys, the Sebenza's work well in the sheaths that I make and
Vess's sheaths are very cleanly made and attractive as well, have heard
and seen only good things regarding his work.

As to my current status, I take a break during the winter, for several
reasons but usually pick it back up again come spring, back at it now
with a sizeable back log but take in orders via email as they come in.

I carry my large sebenza in a Microtech Nylon Sheath.

Mine rides in a MtMike belt sheath, tip down.

The clip was the first thing to go. I don't care for them and cared even less after jabbing my thumb on a partially opened classic reaching for my wallet.

After getting that very expensive little piece to cover the clip hole and a quick trip to Tom Mayo it has been on my belt every day for the last 3 years or so.

I get more comments on the pouch than I do the knife.

the guy is sadly, no longer around...but I am personally working the design with some crazy people and will report back!:cool: :thumbup:
 
i usually keep mine in it's CR pouch, in my pocket.

two reasons :

  • in the pouch it stays right vertical instead of going horizontaly in my pocket
  • i don't totally trust my sebenza to stay closed under any condition. when i go climbing or skiing for example, i feel more secured if it's in the pouch
