How many of you have joined BF because of me or another member?

Did you join because a BladeForums (BF) member told you about this site? I'm not interested if you found this site through a search engine. Also, I see member sites that have a BF link. Did you click that and join?

I ask this because people have emailed me questioning or commenting on a BF post but saying they're not a member (lurker). I have encouraged them to join but have not seen any clues that they have joined. I have responded to rec.knives posts through email and mentioned BF and KFC. Those people thanked me for the neat sites but I see no sign of them joining.

David,
I, as well as my brother Barry, were told of the forums by Alan Folts. Having just gotten a computer within the last few months, we lurked around and finally joined earlier this month.

David,

I've sent quite a few folks here, most of which post fairly frequently, but I suspect mention of BFC on both rec.knives and KFC, as well as search engines account for the vast majority.

I learned of BF from rec.knives.
I think Chuck G. had a post about it.Very rare of me to use a search engine for knives!

stray,

No apologies necessary. I'm just happy some people not only joined but are posting because of other members telling them about this site.

I was growing weary of emails from non-members that could easily have been posts but since I know people are becoming members I will continue to respond. I don't mind emails when I initiate them.

Yes David, you are a great resource. Your posts are great. I try to be careful about who I tell about this place on the web.

But then again, I had my BFC t-shirt on at the bowling alley tonight...

Good for a 220 average. Have to make sure I wear it next week!

I joined this forum because of the adult attitudes I found here. So I guess you could say it was the members here that convinced me to join.

Just not a specific one.

JerryO is the reason I became active on Blade Forums. He posted a review of my "Sliver",then e-mailed me and asked me to jump in to the comments. I am glad he did. I really enjoy all the information, and knifeknutts on the forums.

Thanks JerryO

i lurked over Carl Jacobsen's shoulder for months before joining. so i guess it's his fault

he also gave me my first REAL folder, a benchmade 350. the next folder i bought myself, straight out of jim mattis' hands at the pasadena knife show a year or so ago.

but i would not have joined if the quality of discussion and character on the forum were not as high as it is. Carl may have introduced me to the forum, but everyone else here provided the hospitality and sparkling conversation which ultimately made me want to join up.

so it's ALL of your faults
