How many of you love your L.C.C. D/A?

I eventually got around acquiring one of these recently. I have to say that I am impressed like hell. It feels great, it looks great. The blade geometry makes it a great cutting tool. The manual action is smooth, the automatic action is very fast. And I love the way it triggers (i.e. by pivoting the bolster).

And ... did I mention that it feels great and looks great?:D

My LCC has to compete for the "daily carry honor" with my Elishewitz, Dale Reif, Mike Snody, its older "brother" MT Socom, Sebbie, Speedtech Synergy and other great knives and it does quite well. I mention all these not to brag, but to emphasize how I like LCC.

All the thumbs up to Microtech for this one!!

After the 'gee-whiz' factor wore off, I had to rotate it out of my EDC circulation, but not because of any fault of the rest of the knife.

The blade was excellent, being that 154-CM is a great steel and mine was spooky sharp using the Edgepro. Mine had the 'solid clip,' and it rode well in the pocket, and stayed firmly in the pocket. The fit and finish were perfect.

The problem I had was the flat spring, it made cleaning difficult. I wear blue-jeans all of the time (we have an informal office), and the crud builds up fast. I tried those 'compressed air' cans, and that worked some. Q-tips were also helpful. But for maintenance I found that an open spine was better for cleaning, and after a while it just got to be a pain trying to get dirt and fuzz out of the action.

I don't need a knife for rapid deployment, and my current one-hander works just as fast. I retired the LCC D/A, in fact, it's up for sale to some collectors in my church.

This was not a case of the knife not being good for me, it was a case of me not being good for the knife.

Mine has overthrown all my other knives as my new EDC. I'm even thinking of getting another one soon.

I love mine. Just like all my other microtechs. But IMHO it doesn't beat my Sebbie or my MT Socom Elite for EDC.

Mine has been my EDC for over a year and a half. I have a Gen II with CF, and Ti. I have to say that when I got a Sebenza, I still carried the LCC D/A more. The Sebenza is currently on the chopping block, as I feel it is a waste having all that money tied up in one knife. Not that I didn't like the Sebenza, I just had more of a relationship with the LCC D/A.

This is the one knife that I don't think I could get rid of.

Zenghost, where did you get the pearl handles put on yours??? BEAUTIFUL!! I know Bandit will do that sort of thing.

If you can, shoot me an email with details as to price, time-frame, etc.

I got my first LCC on 1 Sep 2000 (purchased it from Chief).

It's been shoved into the pockets of BDU's, jeans, body armor, cotton pants, etc. . .(all mine of course) and not a single failure in any of its functions nor parts !

While it's not a custom. . .it ranked high enough to rate as a constant blade carry when I was in the service of Uncle Sugar ! "Constant" meaning "daily."

It's been used hard and it has taken the beating both functionally and cosmetically ! Which has really shocked me.

Since my retirement ~ from Uncle Sugar. . .my first LCC has fallen into the rotation line-up. :( Boring, for the LCC, but it has very good company ! :D

While it's not a custom. . .it's pretty damn close ! And I'm still packin' it.

In fact, it's in my right front pocket as I type this. :D

Hats off to Microtech !

I have Elite too. It got the light weight and blade length going for it definitely.

Zenghost, yours looks really great!
