How many of you own a Wicked Edge System and which level

Basic, Pro, Pro 2 or something in between. Also, if you have Gen 1 will you pop for the second generation rods and base clamp? The reason I ask is because this is one pretty expensive piece of equipment for what it is. Now. this is not an invitation to complain about the price. It is what it is, good stuff comes at a price I guess. Although it might be interesting to hear from those who actually have a system if they feel now that they have it, if they feel it was in fact a good value. Also, of those who actually have one, did you need as many stones as you bought or could you have done what you needed with say a basic or pro instead of pro 2 or a basic and one or two more optional stones or strops.

I heard a rumor that there was a recession on but it seems that these systems are flying off the shelves and in fact the newest one is over $600 and they can't even keep them in stock. So maybe that rumor of a recession is wrong.

Anyhow, the reason I am asking is that I am new to collecting knives and still very enthusiastic. I want to invest in a system and I know there are many. The best seems to be the Wicked Edge ( in my opinion at least, based on reviews) even at the high price it commands, so I am curious just how many others have laid down between $250 and $650 or more for these stones and strops.

Anyway, just thought some might be interested in seeing how many here at this impressive group own one of these systems.

Thanks for participating.

I just recently purchased the pro pack 1.It is nothing short of awesome.I will be upgrading to the new arms when they are available.I also purchased the 1200 and 1600 grit ceramics and must say they are well worth the money. There is a slight learning curve to the system but not much. The most important thing is getting the "Burr"

I made my own. I just purchased the stones from Wicked Edge. The rest functions identically. It ended up costing what it does for the stones + roughly 30 bucks in machining for my set up.

So...if you have an engineering background, it's not that hard to make your own on the cheap.
