To go with Dark Nemesis' post, I figured I'd ask the next logical question.

How many of you are planning on buying your first Busse offering this year??

What has made up your mind??

What model has piqued your interest??

3 models really:

1) Fusion Battle Mistress
2) Satin Jack
3) Leaner Meaner Street

Finances got straightened out this year, so getting a Busse (or a couple) won't really hurt the pocketbook.

Also, with the announcement of the Fusion BM, I really have to go for it now. At 10" and "lively" in the hand by some reports (plus the pics are really great), this sounds like THE BM for me.

I received my very first Busse last Thursday, a SF NO w/DC finish and Snake Skin handles. I ordered it from the Company Store. I just ordered a NARK from there, and am expecting it this coming week.

I ordered two HOFSHs, one standard (DC finish with Snake Skin handles) and one LE version, direct from Busse.

I, too, am looking forward to the Fusion BM release.

I'll have some photos in a week or two...

WOW!!!
Just like me, you guys sure are jumping into the pool head first!!!
But I guess there's no bug like the INFI bug

Excellent idea!!! Good to see how much the ranks may grow this year :)

i wont be able to this year, but the plan is once i get a real full time job, the first thing on the list is gonna be some fine infi, so maybe in 2006

i am seriously looking into buying one. i just need to do some research but that steel heart heavy ordinance version is callin' my name.

never ventured into this world of kydex sheaths, micarta handles, and black coated blades before.

i understand that certain offerings are available for certain times of the year.

gotta do some more research. seems like there is something to these Busse Combat knives...

Welcome to all the new and hoggies-to-be.

If we can help you in anyway, let us know how.

There are plenty of addicts, er, um, collectors and users here to answer just about any question you have, or point you to the right place/person for the answer.

IF you want to buy one, you'd better do it soon.
Originally Jerry was going to put up one knife a month, but the SH has been up for almost 3 so far. I think the other knives have been for like 2 at the most. So this one should (with any luck) disappear soon. Otherwise, you'll be waiting a LONG time to order yours. BUT if you're not that picky about handle and/or blade color, you'll probably be okay, the company shop will almost certain put some up for sale.

i'm really tempted but it's a bit of money and i need to do some research first. I'm looking into what people think of the steel heart. Right now, I'm really liking that Tan micarta and satin finish.

I read the difference between the magnum and regular handle, but it's hard to tell what the right choice is until i've actually held it, and i don't want to make the wrong choice. I'm thinking the regular handle as it seems smaller in diameter. I guess it depends on hand size?

those chocolate brown kydex sheaths are nice though! lousy laptop monitor skews colours a bit though. i miss my desktop.

Just bought two this year . . . My Very first two Busse.
The Basic 9
and The Public Defender

Seem like a good start.
:)

I purchased my first (50) last year, I probably won't get that many this year and I doubt I'll ever catch Stinky, but I might try!

:D

I'm lookin' to grab some kind of Battle Mistress and a little Assault Shaker this year, I think. Maybe something fat too... I really like those short stubby blades.

I'm sure that IdahoSkunk has the one that I want to purchase.. Hehehe.

It'll probably be a Badger Attack of one form or the other. I just need to stop buying other frivolous junk and just throw down on one. Man, I really want a green one. :(

50 is a very respectable first year man, you hve Voracious beat. :) None of us shall ever catch Stinky, but we sure as hell can have a lot of fun trying. :)

i have a question...

what is this hog reference i see all the time?

We call those who "hog" up every piece of INFI they can get their little cloven hooves on Hogs. There are differing degrees of Hogdom. Perhaps HamGuy or another hog can provide a link to Nick's excellent description of the degrees in hogdom. I was checking the new help site and look at what I found. Here you go Dave. I suggest that thread be a stop for you. Some good stuff there. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...ighlight=hogdom

As for your dilemma as to which slabs to get on the FSH, you can always get the shop to put a different set of slabs on it if they just don't fit you right. It all depends on your hand size and how large a handle you like to have on your working blades. This is the first of the Fusion handles to be released and it does differ a little from the one that we have had at the Blade shows the last two years, so there probably aren't many that could comment on how they feel just yet. Perhaps you could tell us what type knife and handle combo you most often reach for when you need a blade. I can tell you the Magnums will be a little more aggressive in their texturing and contouring that the standard flatter slabs would be. The Mags are going to really fill you hand.

After years of knowing about Busse and dieing to get my hands on one I bought one from idahoskunk, I'm sure that’s a big surprise there. ;) I got one of the clipped point DABA's. I haven't used it yet but I'll tell ya that baby is a keeper. I love the feel, size and weight of the knife. I'm going to miss her while she's at David Browns getting fitted for a chocolate brown sheath. I can't wait to get her back to see what she'll do.
