How many Schrades would a collector own to be able to say he owned one of each. To qualify - How many different Schrade models were offered for sale to the public prior to the 2004 closing Schrade.

hundreds to thousands of different models nobody has even near everyone of them but everyone wants to be the first keep collecting bro

Undoubtedly thousands, especially if you count variations.

If you specialize a bit, collecting only Old Timers for example, there are probably only two or three hundred.

Bob, if you disregard variations to the same model I would not have thought there were even a hundred Old Timers to their line up and its a great question to ponder.....of course no Old Timer collection could be considered complete without the 3OT from 1959 and so far only one has ever surfaced and been photographed in Sargents #2....from perhaps only the half dozen ever made as stated by Herman Williams...that mint 3OT continues to safely reside in Oz...even with the 2OT there were only 13,000 odd ever made so a complete Old Timer collection is possible however very difficult to obtain the lot..Hoo Roo

Hiya Mate!

The checklist that I'm using has 78 different Old Timer model numbers listed, including the Primble and Ulster model numbers.

But it's the variations that will keep collectors chasing for years to come. Tang stamps from different eras, different grinds on fixed blades, Limited Edition and Anniversary specials, plus enough oddballs to keep collectors chasing for years to come.

I have a total of 69 non-duplicate Old Timers in my collection. I'd guess that's one-third of the total possible.

78 different Old Timers. Now add in Uncle Henry model numbers. Now Tradesman. Imperial... Jackmaster... Double Eagle. Frontier. Diamond Edge.
The various Schrade series, each of with it's own list of multiple model numbers: Simon, Cliphanger, X-Timer, collaborations, ProHunter, 3rd Generation...

Ask Codger and I (no, I do not put myself on par, just that we share a love for the 165) about the different variations of the 165 pattern alone. I own at least 11 different variants, and have seen EASILY half a dozen more, and I know I am greatly underestimating. One thing I have learned in my quest for the 165, just when you think you've seen every variation a new one pops up and surprises you. And that's just one of the many many patterns.
