How many times a day do you use your EDC

How many times a day do you use your EDC knife?

I must take my EDC out of my pocket 6-12 times a day to use it durring the work week.

Less on the weekends. Most of my knife use is at work. There is always something that needs to be cut at work.

How about you?
 
i work in maintenance and i use my EDC so many times during the day i lose count.one of my EDC's is always a multi tool
 
It's about 11:50 am, and I've probably opened my CQC-6 for use about 15-20 times delivering morning editions, and opened my Ray Cover slip-joint a couple of times for little stuff.........
 
I worked today so I didn't get to use my knife often, but it is ever present in case of an emergency. Right now, my EDC is a Buck Cadet and either a Titanium Salsa or Dragonfly and since I'm home, I'll be using both knives often. Now that classes are starting, I will be using my knives alot more frequently.

i probably use my an average of twice a day. that is unless you count taking it out to play w/ it, in which case i cant count.
 
The one(s) that I carry for defense/offense (Spydie serrated Ayoob, Spydie PE FRN Endura, Spydie PE Chinook or Cold Steel Vaquero Grande)...None (And I hope it stays that way!).

The one that I carry as my "utility" knife (Spydie PE FRN Delica)...3.7 times per day in any given week.
 
At work i usualy use my EDC over 100-200 times, im a shipper and cut boxes all the time. On the weekend usualy aroeund 20 times a day.
 
All depends on what I'm doing each day. There are some days that I may use it once or twice. . .those are few and far between. Then there are days that they're used hard !

But. . .ya know what ?

Whether I pull it out just to admire it. . .or. . .to use the hell out of it. . . .

I'm happier than $hit just to be able to possess one of the fine wears that reside with me. :D

Ooopppppsss. . .just had the urge to take it out. . .and fondle it. :D :D :D

You have 2.8 kids and 1.5 cars, don't you?
 
It isn't as important how many times a day you use your EDC but that you have it in your pocket when you need it. I wish I had the type of job that I would need to use my knives all day long, but that isn't the case. I use them more around the house, especially in the kitchen. Most of my EDC knives find themselves doing kitchen duty of one type or another.

My daughter just got back from a trip to Chicago and didn't take her Ladybug or Victorinox classic. She said that several times while on her trip her friend would search the house for a pair of scissors to open packages. Next time she will pack her knives in her check in baggage.

I long for the days when preparing to go on a trip and trying to figure out which knife to take on the plane with me. I was going on a trip the week after 9-11 and was having that argument with myself. I guess that will be the last time we have that freedom.
 
Around the farm (when I'm otherwise unemployed) or on weekends, I must use my EDC (various FB utility/small game hunters) a dozen times a day, but when I'm working in SF and my EDC is typically a small Sebenza or other folder its more like once or twice a day.
What I do for work doesn't call for a knife at all, and many of the things that come up now and then are better handled with a small scissors like that on a Micra or SAK...

No, actually I have 3 kids, and 2 cars (well, one of the cars is my wifes', but it still counts, doesn't it?).:D.
 
I usually end up using at least 5 times a day, but number of usage increases as studio work declines, yet discussion gets dull and long. In another word I use my knife often when I'm bored.
 
This is very inconsistent for me. Sometimes it's once a day, sometimes 30 times a day and sometimes zero.

It all depends on what I'm doing and whether I'm at work or not.

If I had to average it out I'd guess it would be about 1-2 times a day.
 
On days I get stock at work, I use my knife more than 20 times but regularyly........probably just one or twice.
 
last Friday....used it exactly 12 times. I had brought bagels to work as a treat and forgot to ask they be sliced. No one had a knife to handle it except me. and FYI...a Cold Steel El Hombre is PERFECT for bagel slicing. Sadly all I had were a Spydie Jester and a Kershaw Chive. The Chive was larger but with no serrations it was easier with the Jester. In any case I have not used it today at all, unless you count playing with my Jester. Am I the only one that thinks that sounds odd...better than "flicking my Chive" I guess.

Ya know Yit I shoulda known ya was a mech a nick, much like Yiterp being a mechanic I use several EDC's more times than I can count throughout the day.

Maybe 50 to 100 times a day.:D
 
Well Today I opened one box and two letters.
I also opened several time and looking at the blade while
I was doing my morning and after lunch ritual at the
bathroom. Its sure better then looking at the ceiling.:D
