...bought the same knife twice? Three times? More?!?

There are no knife shops within driving distance (well, within several hours anyway) of my house and so a lot of my T&E takes place post-purchase. This means I end up selling or trading off a fair number of knives, usually at a slight loss. It's frustrating, but it's the way things are.

Now we have at least one local(ish) place which carries knives, but I hate having to go there and their selection is limited.

So I end up buying a knife and trying it out, then maybe sending it on down the line to replace with something else. If I find I liked the one I let go, I end up buying it again! Most of the knives I own now (I'm not a collector by any means and pretty much everything I own/keep, I use) I've had before.

So how about you, have you bought the same knife multiple times? If so, why?

My most recent dual-purchase? GSO-4.1. I'm a huge convex fan on outdoor fixed blades, but this knife is just too much awesome not to own. Especially in M3ineverhavetosharpenit90.
 
My only double is my 707 sequel got the satin blade and a coated blade also been considering a serrated blade aswell but havent pulled the trigger........ Yet. I just love how thin and light it is with a nice sized blade for edc, the axis makes it even better for me.

2 G10 Delicas
3 regular Delicas
2 Sage 1's
5 P2s
4 mini grips

Out of all those I have 1 P2 left. Not sure why the Delica and Sages don't stick around...
 
Never, sO far.

Usually my knives last me about 5-6 years until I sell/trade/or donate them for upgraded knives.

My first chef knife coated $50 and now I'm shopping for chef knives in the $600 range, I wish I could order duplicates haha!

Only sold all of those to fund some other spur of the moment purchase. Mad at myself over a few of those now.
 
I've purchased about twenty PM2's. At one point, I had twelve in the super-steels...S90V, CTS-20CP, M4, M390, D2 and so forth. Then, after I sold those, I bought the cheaper ones in S30V: usually the digi/camos, camo/black and black on black. I really love these things. I guess the compression lock is the largest selling point, although I am enthralled by super-steels. I had perhaps six or so Military's also, but now I have one left of each model. Bummer. Hated to have to sell them. Nothing else competes with the PM2 for the price, IMO.
I've had three Technos and three Gayle Bradleys; about twelve Striders. Striders are tactical fun-things, with great customer service if you need it. Perhaps fifteen or more CRK Sebenzas. CRK's are smooth high-quality items. I love 'em, but they all seem to come and go. Right now, my credit-card is paid off, but most of the folders are gone. A bit obsessive/compulsive, perhaps. :)
